Newspapers, magazines and TV channels play an important role in a nation’s life AND BRING POSITIVE CHANGE IN SOCIETY. They inform the people about the facts and open their eyes to the realities. We can learn about important events taking place in the world by reading a news papers or watching a news channel. Newspapers give us useful information about the political affairs and economic affairs. It also publishes news about other countries. All these information are collected by journalists.

Information on the latest happenings reaches people in just a matter of minutes. The vision of media reaches even the remotest corners of the country and makes sure that everyone is aware of what is going on in the country. The easy and swift availability of any given information makes media one of the most reliable sources for forming public opinion. It brings into open the innumerable achievements that are going on in the country. Media gives ordinary people the power to reach out to the society as a whole. It can make heroes out of ordinary men. The media acts as a deterrent on corrupt practices and keeps a check on the working of the government. Media has significantly promoted social causes like literacy, health management, anti-dowry practices, discouraging female feticide, AIDS awareness, etc. Media try to present a true picture of society without fear or favour. They never try to mislead us. In fact newspapers should be impartial in as perfect a way as possible. They should favour neither any person nor any party. They should criticize all those persons who do evil and harm the society, however, powerful they may be.

• By reading newspaper, the children learn many things, their reading habit increases and their vocabulary enhances by learning new words. Their knowledge increases by watching geographical channel, quiz programs and speeches by famous personalities of different fields.
• The cartoon channels make the children happy.
• The games increase their logical thinking power and grasping of things. The attitude, approach and behavior of the common people will also change, when exposed to media.
• The media conducts polls and let public to take part in social issues. Through blogging in the internet and writing letters to the editor in newspapers, many people give voice about their opinion in different political and social matters.

The media can work independently only when the public knows democratic principles and desires to act on them. So there is need to educate and inform the public about the meaning and benefits of real democracy. Journalists, who write for newspapers, write in a very bold manner. Sometimes their life is in danger, but they do not care for it and fulfill their duties with great responsibilities.
